Good point. It just seems like such a waste of land not to build something bigger and taller. Like suburbia said, why not add more floors.

That's right keep out the unwashed masses known as the general public. Like seriously.

This is possibly a silly question, but I'm wondering if there is any precedent that would allow for a two level semi-detached (IE duplex) to be 25/75, where the ground floors of both sides A and B are equal, but the second level is fully on of the two sides? When one thinks of mother-in-law suites, or a guest suite, or even a revenue unit, you can see why this could make sense for the owner(s). With a cumulative 1500sf footprint, it would make one side 750sf and the other side 2250sf.

I think the city should increase the public space along McHugh Bluffs. Let the rich folks keep their mansions, make a stipulation that new ones be built, increase the width of the pathways at the top and pave them. It's truly a great spot that should be even more of a public place.

Hmmmmm - with JC a fan of the Crescent Heights mansion, I'm wondering if this is Willy Wilson's new place?

Are you being deliberately provocative or do you genuinely believe this? You really think it is a good thing for the City to gift a road and prime land that belongs to Calgarians to some of the wealthiest people in the city, for no reason?

Make a stipulation that nobody can build any new mansions? How are you supposed to do that when people own that land?

I know this won't ever happen, but I'd like to see Crescent Road taken out (residents having to get access fro the rear), and the existing road turned into park space with a paved promenade, more benches etc., and separate bike path. The only roadway being a section in front of the existing park, so limo drivers can drop people for photo ops, and food trucks can park there..

A water slide park would be nice.

Actually there's a height limit bylaw too.

I would be okay with that. Pave the alley if it isn't already paved for residents access and make a great public space.

Are you claiming that's a negative trait. Sounds relaxing to me.

No one will be looking out of them. Guy is going to be working extra hours to keep up on his mortgage payments.

That would be kind of like air rights that they do in Manhattan which would cause someone at Calgary land titles an aneurysm.

Of course you’re okay with that, too bad it’s not realistic at all. Hey how about having a unicorn as a pet? Yeah I bet you’d be okay with that too.
