As somebody who is parting with a classic car that is being more or less left to rot at my parents house due to a variety of circumstances... Ya really need to do something with this property.
Doing a shakedown of that car last weekend exposed manufactured issues that wouldn't be there had it even just been occasionally used. A near perfect interior of a 51 year old car was turning moldy and now has some holes in the headliner from mice.
Do something with this property one way or another or the problems will compound themselves. The notion that no party wants to spend money on it because the opposition will grill them for it is just peak Ottawa/Canadiana somehow.
I am now curious what other nations leaders do not have or don't live in an official residence.
