The crane's up now.

Not the most exciting update but it's moving along.

1170 Pinetree Way, Coquitlam
Don't know if anyone will be interested in this, but they're building a 'residential sales centre' there. Couldn't really find info online about what it's being used to sell, but if I had to guess I'd probably say 1175 Pinetree Way considering the site prep they've been doing the past few months. I thought it looked kinda cool from above.

The sign says Ledmac so it's probably for Kadence at 1175 Pipeline, they also have a proposed tower at the SE corner of Pipeline & Inlet. https://www.tricitynews.com/local-news/a...d-for-pipeline-road-in-coquitlam-5551300

Onni has 1175 Pinetree.

Looks very different from anything else in the area. Only thing I would change is a heftier podium, possibly including office space.

Demolition is now underway at this site.
Bought in 2021 by PC Urban it's now 100% secured rental with 10 below market and 328 market units.

New design:

Maybe it's a new trend or the same architect and or builder.

I see the Loma is covered on this thread. When driving by it, the podium really shows its character, I like it. One of my new favorite buildings.

Edit: added a Gif - Being my first sighting, the closer it got, the more impressed I was.

810 Agnes Street in New Westminster is progressing through the development process. Originally submitted by Jago Development as a 29-storey 222 unit strata building, it transferred to Brookfield Properties, who changed it to a 32-storey 327 unit rental building. They've revised it again to a 33-storey 352 unit rental building. This would be just uphill from the Ovation building on Carnarvon that's currently under construction, across the street from the New West SkyTrain station. https://storeys.com/810-agnes-street-new...ental-development-brookfield-properties/

Lots of developments in NW converting from strata to rental, great for the rental market but would have preferred to see a mix here of strata and rental to stock both markets with supply, afterall it's market rental and a lot of that strata would have ended up on the market as rental anyways.

Big fan of the increase in density here though, the offset angular balconies will be an interesting touch too. Not a fan of the reduction of 3 bedroom units going from 11% of the original development to 5.4% of the units in this proposal, would like to see more larger units in general with WFH being so common nowadays. I wonder how that community amenity space will be used?

I think we can create a thread dedicated to all new hospitals. Vancouver, Burnaby, New West, Surrey...

Alina: Another example of a pretty tall residential tower in the middle of an SFH neighbourhood near the skytrain route. Coquitlam is certainly a lot more progressive than Vancouver.

Probably has to do with Metro Vancouver’s regional growth strategy

Tonight New West council approved the first step in getting 809 - 811 Carnarvon Street and 60 – 70 Eighth Street through the development approval process. This is essentially five small buildings on Eighth Street between Carnarvon and Agnes, beside the Ovation building that's under construction, beside the other one that I brought up earlier in the thread, and across the street from the New West SkyTrain Station.

The proposal would see a 44-storey strata building and a six-storey hotel put on the existing six lots. This tweet has a couple of renderings.

I for one would LOVE to see this in place. New West desperately needs another hotel, and this would be a great place for it. And hey, more residential is great too. This would really add to New West's landscape, there are a bunch of tall buildings and this would just enhance things.

Nice, at 44 storeys that should be the third tallest in New West after Pier West.
Big changes in the immediate area coming soon with 810 Agnes and the Douglas College residential building.

Finally. I used to go into the pawn shop there and it's annoying that it's sat empty for so long when they could have easily kept it open for another year or two (they were mid-way through a lease agreement).

Wow, that 44 story New West proposal looks really nice. I hope that is the form they movie forward with. New West will have quite the decent little cluster.

Renderings for 809 – 811 Carnarvon Street and 60 – 70 Eighth Street from Ria's Twitter post:

The 2018 proposal, seems like we're losing a storey on the tower and gaining some more rooms in the hotel portion:
