Sometimes I wish public consultation would just go away. It takes so much time and money to just get projects underway and to have it delayed by public input really doesn't help the apartment and housing shortage.
Hear we go folks! Let the war begin!

It has been said that Democracy is the worst system of government, other than all the other ones that have been tried. It has its inefficiencies as indicated by this example.

Yeah that’s the old Mikes Restaurant building. It would be perfect for east side Mario’s. It’s owned by the mall now, which is also owned by APM.

The approval was for 68 units. I can't see a modified rendering on the

Anyone see anything different?

Ok, then it will be similar to the one presently there. I guess they all start looking the same after awhile.

Looks like they are getting ready to start an apt on Oak dr in Sherwood. I was just coming back from lunch when I saw an excavator tearing up the ground where there is an old apt.

Would it be 41 Pine Drive apartments? Just asking because I didn't see anything on Oak Dr when I went through there. There is a backhoe at 41 Pine and they are about to tear down the house and apartment building there. This was delayed by NIMBYs and was approved 2 years ago by IRAC.

The city bought the transit depot on Mt Edward Rd off Mike Cassidy…that’s where the new electric transit hub will be built.

Source is this local newsletter: https://us14.campaign-archive.com/?u=4724eedb0da444f6ddbb405fe&id=cb00d8277a

City Hall Gives Approval for Kent St Lights & More

Kent Street lighting:
A project to brighten up a portion of Kent Street between Great George and Prince streets will be moving ahead. Council approved $415,000 for the project, which is expected to take shape soon.

APPROVED
64 King Street Mural to be painted on King St side of
building
APPROVED
89 Kent Street Mural to be painted on side of Fire
Station 1
APPROVED
151 Great George Street
Mural to be painted on side of building

Speakers at Charlottetown public meeting strongly oppose pool bylaw amendment
7 speakers, including the city's former CAO, all spoke against the change

I'm not getting it!! We have a city hall that will approve overhead lights, waste time and money on pool covers which should have never been debated, and approved three murals for the downtown but can't give approvals for affordable units in the core. I can't wait until elections to send a message.

I think the total cost to the city is $415k when the new light standards are added in, but council only approved $125k. Staff should make these things a little more clear for people listening in on council meetings.

......it's anticipated that the plan will include designating 30 acres of land under the Natural Areas Protection Act, and developing 55 acres into a mix of single-family and multi-family residential housing with parks and active transportation trails.
