I agree with the sentiment of aiming for excellent projects but I wonder to what degree this is a "requirement" that can be added at the planning level or if it is more a feature of the architect/developer ecosystem and economics, with experience being a part of that. A few developers started at the bottom of the food chain, building basic housing, and then moved on to nicer large-scale projects. Other firms always had higher quality but remain at a boutique scale.

They're currently doing the LivWerk thing on Seymour and the building on the Moffat's Pharmacy site. They also have the Promenade on Robie with it's heritage restoration, and that heritage cottage on Tower Road in their portfolio on their website.
