NCSA creates a nice lil skyline from Salem neighborhood. I feel the City really doesn’t adequately leverage being the home of NCSA. It should be a huge part of the City’s identity.

I have long thought and advocated on these kind of message boards that Winston should have a state of the art film studio. That kind of investment would leverage the UNCSA brand and give the students a way to participate in the movie making process in a real world kind of way, along with providing an economic and PR boost to the city.

I always thought a great location for it would be between City Yard Drive and the Salem Creek Greenway, which could be expanded into a multi-use pathway that connects the studio to the school. It would also provide a southern anchor to the IQ and Old Salem. The only thing on that lot right now are a couple of old city owned maintenance buildings.
