The mystery building in front of the Courthouse is the Hotel Alhambra, which was moved in the early 1920s to make way for the Hall of Justice (mentioned in John Bengtson's Blog). I also remember it being covered in NLA v1.0. Here is the Hotel Alhambra squeezed in next to Broadway tunnel. There's a close-up taken during the demolition of the tunnel at LAPL.

It obviously survived the building of the nearby freeway, but with Historic Aerials being down, I'm not sure for how long. There's a parking garage there now.
