If all you're looking for is the ability to put a roof over your head in a high-priced city, then $1,877 for a 1BR in New Westminster (-12% YoY) or $1,913 for a 1BR in the East York section of Toronto (-10% YoY) is pretty decent. Neither of those areas are hip, but they're easy places to live without a car and have access to hundreds of thousands of jobs within easy transit access.
