Montreal is looking great, and Calgary is looking good!

A lot of (Kitchener and) Waterloo's towers are generic and some downright "colourful commieblock" like Russian cities, but man is it creating some high density residential population clusters...that will hopefully help increase the vibrancy of the traditional "high street" King St corridor between Kitchener and Waterloo. If only the ground floors of these mid and high-rises had more of a consistent look to them instead of some god awful podiums.

When my best friend and I did an overnight trip and walkabout of inner city KW last year, we were really impressed by the good level of pedestrian traffic, particularly in Uptown Waterloo. Lots of people, including families, out and about, and the vibrant feeling continued even around 11pm-midnight.

I can't criticize it too much, because I know as the Niagara region starts to go more vertical, lots of "schlock" will be built here too

It's a new public art piece made of reused tires called When the Rubber Meets the Road. The NCC is renting the piece for one year. Here's the story and significance of the piece:

It actually is a dead beast!

Looks amazing except that it's of an oversized dead bird.

So nice to see a skyline shot of Calgary!
I miss seeing those here.. I'm guessing projects have declined there a bit?
.. such a beautiful skyline shot! Keep them coming!

Still seems to be a lot of construction going on.

Nice shot.

That really shows how much rail infrastructure is in the area.

Indeed.

From Prior St to East 2nd, between Main St. and Clark Dr., that northern section of Vancouver is basically impassable due to all of the rail lines.
