I wouldn't expect China, but I hope that the Japanese manufacturers put up a good game and make Bombardier step up and compete. Their MkIII design for Vancouver feels lazy and cheap compared to the MkII if you ignore the larger windows.

I would imagine with an order of 200+ units, other manufacturers would find it worthwhile to invest money into adapting their existing designs for Translink.
I'm not exactly certain what's the difference between the Bombardier developed LIM's and the Japanese LIM's, but I would expect that since Translink says they were looking at other manufacturers, they had done their due diligence on compatibility.
