I'm shocked that people don't hang out in front of a Safeway that hasn't yet opened up. Where else would you rather hang out at--English Bay?

The stores looked closed in the pics, doors shut.

TimeOut hasn't had lineups since the first 2 or 3 weeks of opening. It's still one of their best performing markets in the world, but yes, you can just walk in now, which is what it should be.

I'm guessing the FIFA crowds were a large part of it - both times I walked in, it seemed like half the court was watching the game.

Would love a source for this, I'm selfishly hoping for some turnover for the less popular stores so that their lineup gets even better...

Also the new Safeway is opening later this month, the concept sounds like they're trying to take on T&T?

Mezzanine will have the Rachel Bery and pharmacy:

PS - does anyone know if Safeway (or the liquor store) will have direct pedestrian access from Cambie Street?

I was at Oakridge last week on a Saturday, got to finally try out the Time Out Market, it wasn't crazy but a few places, like Downlow Chicken, and Mello donuts had very long lines, most others weren't too bad.

The Chanel store had a lineup to get inside and the inside looked quite busy, a few others had blocked off entrances so you couldn't just walk in, like Rolex, Miu Miu, Louis Vuitton, but they would let people in right away.

The washrooms in the market are nice but their hand dryers are hidden behind the mirrors over the sinks and most people leaving left with wet hands, I almost did but then I noticed a guy using the hand dryer and went back to dry my hands, maybe a little too subtle with the signage.

Dyptique is open now and there were a few people looking and buying in there. Overall the mall was fairly steady, the parking had a lineup from Cambie Street all the way down into the parking, it was taking a while to get inside and find a spot.

A few previously disclosed are missing - like Neptune Seafood Restaurant next to Sporting Life.
Wondering is some deals fell through.
Even Fairleigh Dickinson University isn't shown, which is weird since it is opening next month.
... and the Altea Fitness in the Hudson's Bay space isn't shown, but that isn't until next year.

I dropped by Time Out for the first time last week and was pretty impressed. Food was $$$ but also felt genuinely restaurant quality, so I don't mind paying $30 for an entree that I could also get at the operator's equivalent sit-down establishment.

Didn't like the wayfinding signage though.

On the flip side of that, I know people who have gone and said if they were going to be paying those prices they wanted a sit-down restaurant experience.
