Well that didn't happen

It's kinda interesting going back and reading the first few posts of this thread when it was made almost 14 years ago and one of the first concerns mentioned was "retail saturation", which ended up being true, as all these years later... this very development never materialized. There are so many retail plazas in this very part of the city (Wellington to the north and south of the 401).

I truly wonder what will end up being developed here

Enbridge buys the former Costco store site and will move from the current Commissioners Rd site.

The former Costco store in south London has been sold to Enbridge Gas for $25.5 million, and the energy provider will shift work, and jobs, here, said a commercial realtor involved in the deal.

Hopefully that means the Commissioners Rd site will be sold and cleaned up for redevelopment in the future. Would be potential site for some nice high rise mixed use towers.

No signs of any construction activity on the old Costco building to renovate it into the new Enbridge office and operations centre.
