Agreed, although I much preferred the previous and likely much more costly proposals, this will fill-in the area very nicely and hopefully bring in some great retail and dining options.

One can only hope the Salter parking lot gets re-developed sometime soon.

Was in Halifax last month for the Halifax Music Fest (can you guess for who? ) and was impressed with it's progress when walking past! Most of downtown Halifax's empty lots are being developed quick! While I do wish there'd be something taller than 20 something storeys built right downtown, I think its been established for quite a while now that the tallest will be built far out, so I'm not going to complain about more density. 21 is better than none (although you could say 8)

Great shot. This particular one is a bit strange to most of us here, too.

Guessing the height will be similar to Maple and should have quite an impact on the harbour. Happy that Metro Park will be mostly hidden.

It's nice to see Founders Square getting a face lift. It's been looking a bit patchy for a while now with mismatched brick/mortar/glass. Hopefully it'll come out looking refreshed so that it doesn't stand out in a bad way among all the shiny new builds downtown.
