From research done when Alberta's taxes changed twice in a year, and when the carbon tax was dropped nation wide, the prices changes are passed through almost entirely.
As for oil company profits, they are taxed. At current price levels, for oil produced in Alberta the tax is about 65% of profit from producing the oil, 23% of the profit for refining the oil, and then PST and GST at the pump.
