Absolutely love this. I have a question though: if they are replacing the Soap Factory south of Martin with a high rise and park, why is the portion of the Soap Factory apartments north of Martin not included as part of this project? That is a massively underutilized lot and becomes an orphaned handful of buildings from what was formerly a massive complex. What’s the point of keeping it at all? I have to assume that’s in one of the future phases?

I would assume it is part of the future development plans.

Hey yall, Austin poster, SA lurker, but love following this project.

I must say though, I really feel like they're missing a pretty easy opportunity here. Yes it may be cheesy, but they should really take that plain brown building behind the first base line and give in a Mission facade or even make the whole thing a Mission replica. Seems like an easy marketing gimmick that could turn out great!

I agree. Both of those buildings look pretty plain. Yeah... more beige brick!

The site planning is nice, fitting all those components onto the curved site. Good view down to San Pedro Creek along the first base line. I get the Menger Soap Works building influence but maybe too simple for the ballpark. At least they're brick and not metal sheds. Get your Flying Chancla caps ready!
