I wonder what will be left of this project after design review rips it apart in a couple weeks.

Wondering if anyone knows when the Burger King is to be finished and open in Stratford, and any more word on DQ going over that way.

Waste to Energy District Heating Facility

Well, I knew this was going to happen. They shrunk the apartments for 3 Prince St from 10 to 8 floors, and yet, the Marco Groups new Waste to Energy District Heating Facility didn't lose any height and it will be the third highest building in the city. A waste plant over living spaces, all because someone doesn't like the height of 3 Prince. Nothing but crickets on the 110' height of the waste plant. I've grown tired of the Design Review Board, which is a NIMBY backed body.

APPROVED

40 Riverside Dr
Site mobilization for preparation of construction of the new expansion of the Waste to Energy District HeatingFacility.

Stratford Burger King will likely open in January. It looks to be nearly completed. Signage is up and all the lights are on.

Great George Homburg apartments

They finally got to the second floor, it only took them 12 months. What is this anyway? A new experimental build that is using Styrofoam! Odd build for sure!
At some point they'll need a crane to finish this. It'll be interesting to see what happens from here.

Pretty sure we’re getting a Bath and Body Works. If you go on their store locator and type in Charlottetown, Royalty Crossing pops up.

I was by there yesterday. Lots of parked cars in the parking lot and a lineup at the drive-thru.

That's ICF - insulated concrete forms - started in use in the 1960 but becoming more and more used these days.

Perhaps in reaction to new building code and R Value Requirements, but less flexible for renovations after the fact.

Application for Retail Petroleum Outlet License – Quick-Stop Charlottetown Airport
Business Park (Lot 14)

An application to IRAC was approved to build a Quick Stop gas retailer in the Sherwood/YYG Business Park.
I've said in the past, and just recently, there is a need for a gas station near the Sherwood Rd roundabout. The closest gas station to the Brackley Rd corridor is Winsloe Irving, Mel's in East Royalty, the Irving on University Ave, and the Mac Esso on Capital Dr. There is no gas retailer on the busy Brackley Rd corridor or in that northeast corner of Charlottetown. This gas station will do well here.

I see they show a drive thru on the sketch. Is there going to be a QSR or a coffee chain outlet?

God i hope they don't approve that left turn out onto sherwood road - that would be a terrible spot. should have the parking lot go around and allow for an exit onto sherwood road, then they can hit the roundabout.

The roundabout in the drawings is currently built. The image is confusing because no one thinks of that leg of Sherwood Road as actually being Sherwood Road. The proposed gas station would be on the south/east corner. Look on a map and it’ll make more sense.
