At the end of the 1970s, a prefabricated water tower was erected northwest of the Hungarian village Harkakötöny. However, one discovered that the delivered tower was too short. As there was obviously no alternative for its use, an unusual solution was made: a substructure of lattice steel was built on which the tower was then mounted. The result can be seen on

Although this construction was likely not without problems, especially the risk of frost damage and structural stability, this tower, located at 46.462841 N 19.600239 E, stood until 2016. It was demolished in that year, after a conventional water tower had been erected a bid eastward to it at 46.462858 N 19.600602 E in 2015.
