[Coquitlam] Whitgift Gardens | Phase I | 40, 37 fl | Proposed

The plan for Phase 1 of the project is two towers :

a 37-storey tower with 347 market rental units (incl. 54 non-market units)
a 30-storey tower with 275 condos;
a 2-storey amenity/daycare building;
1.67 FAR (on entire site area – 5.50 FAR max for the site)

Whitgift Gardens update. Pictures are from yesterday. They still have two more walkups to knock down (the two bottom walkups in the second picture with the red roofs). There are three walkups that are still occupied (left side of the second pic) and they probably will not be touched for a few more years (this summer I watched them change the roofs on those ones).

Wow. More white and charcoal grey. Literally every tower in that photo is the exact same. And two more going up. Depressing.

I'm in the area and I'm okay with the designs. I'd much prefer white/charcoal (even if every single building is similar) over random yellows and reds. Some of those Downtown buildings with reds, blues and yellows in them look so CHEAP. For example the one above Costco DT.

I've already given up on the quality of our architecture.

Our selling point is now "better-than-Toronto" public realms that come from these new developments.

I'm happy with that.
