The Evolution of Downtown Halifax

I don’t know if this is common knowledge, but I just scrolled through this collection of historical material about the evolution of DT Halifax. It begins with a discussion of a Centennial project (originally proposed as an aquarium, which later became a pool), but quickly segues into an exhaustive account of planning for the DT core which eventually became Scotia Square after an initial larger proposal named after Cornwallis was deep-sixed as being too large. I found it interesting the amount of influence that planners from England had back in that era.
