Buffalo, NY. 1950 vs. 2021

I don't know why I was compelled to post this photo, being that I've never been to Buffalo. But the difference is so... sad. So much character lost. I saw this on a Facebook page called Retro Meets Modern.

Why the demolishment? Seemed very unnecessary. Silly decisions is world-wide phenomenon

Just because you don't understand something doesn't make it a silly decision, the neighborhood couldn't support the businesses and maintaining those old buildings was too expensive and since people weren't exactly clawing to move in they got demolished. Buffalo's been on a downward slide since the 1950's
