The Current Transit System is Falling Short

Great data. There's a really strong connection between UBC and the VGH/Health Sciences area, where parking is a total nightmare. This will be great.

Much like Diego's image, I've built a Google Maps version of the proposed route, with data linked to all the studies, data on all of the large development proposals coming up (with links to the development details), and various proposed routes.
All you have to do is click on the highlighted stations, lines, or neighbourhoods to see the data:

Does anybody know what the justification is for the end spot of the line? I'm not too familiar with UBC, but wouldn't something just a little closer to Thunderbird and the other sports fields be better, like right on W16th for other connections?

Is that area where it ends super dense with student activity?

That's Wesbrook - once finished, it'll effectively house a third of the entire university.

Removing the parade of 99 buses (and the subway construction) will improve driving time.

That will be marginal at best. Adding more traffic lights and making the signal cycles more pedestrian-friendly will more than offset this.

If you want to get from any of the above locations (except YVR) to UBC fast, you take the train. Pretty simple calculus to me

Good thing TransLink's building a grade-separated line capable of moving 25,000 people/hour - now everybody who can possibly take the SkyTrain is free to do so, leaving Broadway and 12th open for trades and truckers. Works for Paris, HK and Osaka.
