Falkner- A Sketchup City

i saw how awesome the cities everyone else were making were and decided to make my own.
This city is called Falkner. It is located on an island (called Falkner Island) on the imaginary planet of Emland.
I have decided that instead of just creating a city, i shall create everything from the moment the land is first settled.
I don't think i am going to use real life years, but instead i'm just going to use "year 1", "year 2", etc
i don't know if i'm going to be able to update as often as other people do because i have school, but i'll try my best
well, i hope you like it

this is the area i'm going to be building the city in:

This is the Falkner lighthouse. It was the first building created by the Falkner settlers:

The view from the lighthouse:

I'm going to post another few pics in a minute

The residents of Falkner felt that they needed a place to gather to discuss the future of their city. They built their newest building, the Falkner Town Hall for this reason.

the town hall is 20.5m tall.

some of the residents checking out the new building

i just realised i forgot to use shadows in the pics, sorry bout that

the public of falkner needed a place of worship. They built the Falkner Church right next door to the town hall. it is 29.5m tall making it the tallest building in the town overtaking the lighthouse (which is 27m tall) and the town hall.

they also built a warehouse next the the jetty for storing resources that are delivered weekly by ships

a birdseye view of the town. The town population has more than doubled to 80 people. this is a small number, however there is a high demand for housing on falkner. a set of aparment buildings, a school, library, shopping centre and building company building are set to begin construction in just a few weeks (not in real life time).

more updates soon

This is the Duck Enterprising building. They specialise in all the essentials for your house, like furniture, pillows, matresses, sheets, towels, carpet, curtains/blinds, etc. kind of like ikea but much much more.

Their building is now the tallest in the city. It is 30.55m tall.

it has 10 floors. The ground floor is a carpark (so i guess this doesn't really count as a floor), and the top level of the building is a storeroom.

sorry bout the duck's head in that last picture
well, enjoy

I like the pioneer spirit you've got going on! That coastline should give an interesting layout. The church and the town hall form nice borders for a public plaza, but I'm not sure that Duck Enterprises Building is the best fit for that location. I think another public building would be better. And you need more housing

Hey,
just thought i'd let u know that i moved the Duck Enterprises building further north (it's about 100m or 2 from the town hall) and i also made it taller and fatter

also, i'm not going to be able to post any pictures or anything for a while.
I've stopped using sketchup while i write my book (i've been working on a book for a few years now and it's been going really slowly so i've decided to have a break from Sketchup while i finish it)
don't know how long i'm gonna be able to last away from sketchup, but i'll add more to Falkner when i get back to sketchup

sorry,
:S

if u wanna see the site for the book it's www.thechosen1.weebly.com
thanks

well, i'm back... and so is Falkner
With the high demand for housing in the town the public of Falkner (and those potential residents) requested more housing (maybe some appartment buildings or something similar). However it was quite difficult to get enough resources over to the island. FBC (Falkner Building Company) set to work on building a small port just East of the town centre. The port/marina facility is now completed (a expansion will be completed at a later time when it is required)
This is the port facility:

pictured here is the pride of the FC (Falkner Cruises) fleet, the 'FC Hannigan'
it's a small sized cruise ship measuring approximately 123m

enjoy
