Ok Burnaby, now it’s your turn to come up with a land use policy for the single detached lots ie multi plexes. Suburbs gonna suburb I guess.

Laneway houses are coming! That's all I know for now.
Hopefully 4-6 plexes will be a reality too. Burnaby has everything to support it!

The floors seem to be wood but with metal columns. There's an interactive 3D model in the link below.

So, it looks like there’s enough space for a tower between O2 and Beresford. Indeed, I recall that in the background of a rendering for Citizen, a very tall tower is depicted on that site. In fact, it appears as the tallest of all the towers on Beresford.

CORRECTION: it looks like the tall tower I’m thinking of is in fact on the site immediately to the east, i.e., the site for the recently released Dow Avenue proposal, which does not look as tall as what was depicted in the Citizen render.

The Citizen render depicted the total site density as one tower, that's why it was so tall. If built now 6645-6707 Dow at 160m would be the second tallest along Beresford, 6450 Telford will be taller.

Everything north of Douglas/Goring will be residential eventually. Boffo has submitted a proposal for the site directly north at 2160 Springer which we'll see at next month's public hearing. That lot (not the Dow Avenue project, but the one just north of the O2 project) is the last single remaining lot on Beresford that doesn't have a project proposal (....yet), or anything submitted to the city, that I know of.
And it's big enough to fit at least a highrise tower and smaller midrise or lowrise building.

So fingers crossed that that fact will encourage whoever owns or buys the lot to redevelop it to really go big.

The only other currently undeveloped lot is the one that sits just east of Metroplace between Metroplace and Thind's Highline that's going to be the tallest (IS the current tallest since the tower is pretty much topped out) of the Beresford row towers.
But there was a project proposal and rezoning application submitted for it some years ago (just pre-pandemic) and it was for a tall tower, and I believe it will be taller than Highline if built as the rendering and the application showed.

Burnaby has no faulty LED streetlights as far as I know. I think they only purchased good quality ones which are supposed to be bright white. Vancouver, on the other hand, has tons of those purple ones:

Cheap knock-off LEDs purchased by corrupt Vancouver trying to rip off tax payers perhaps?

Those purple lights you see are decorative ones you see under the skytrain guideway, which Vancouver does not have. They are meant to be purple, or any other colours they are switched to.
