LOL I wasn't comparing the projects to one another. I remember snickering when I was first taught the provincial capitals. I couldn't have been more than 8 years old though.

IMO, Absolute a twist scraper. This one is wavy. The palette is similar.

Speaking of waves, have you guys seen the GT Tower in Seoul?

That's a really nice looking tower. Also yes I've seen the GT Tower, I love that building. It looks like a Mies Tower made of jello.

I lived super close to the GT Building. Took a bunch of pictures of it over the years.

One side of it looks perfectly square. You can see it centre right in this pic

Beautiful building aside from the ground floor and main entryway. Looks like an entrance to a parking garage.

Thanks for the pics. God, I really miss Seoul's vibe and their food.

The addition doesn't add anything architecturally. Great job aside from that. K.I.S.S.

The rest of the street could use another floor or two.

I don't think they are trying to ad to it as much as they are trying to compliment not to mention have it blend in with the residential street on the back side. They will also be creating more event space. The additions both front and back are meant to elevate and restore the existing structure. The interior is going to be totally revamped as well as expanding it east towards Hadley Rd where they currently have an overgrown surface parking for the venue.

Hopefully they will release some renders of what the interior will look like. In it's current form it looks like a rundown high school auditorium.

Wow, I really like that! The proportions are great. The podium looks terrible though.

It does look a bit odd standing alone and ya the podium doesn't read well from the elevations. I think it should be fine though, more old structures will be restored (as fecades) along Yonge, and the back side which is an alley way will have the loading docks and parking entrance.

Not really a fan of this. I think it will age poorly. Also looks like a knock off Gehry but filtered through trendy random organic shapes. That mesh could look messy.

I'm just so relieved to see a development in Toronto that isn't a 50 story condo tower tacked on top of a historic building.

I'm not a fan of the town logo where my parents live on the Sunshine Coast. I get it but why double up with the S's?
