Looks to be about 5-6 floors until topping off. We're nearing the end of vertical growth and it's been awesome to watch.

There's only 1-story of cladding, but I'm liking it so far. It's nice to see texture and detailing.

I can't wait to see One Fulton Market enter the mix.

I think it adds a BIG CITY look with the fake burnished steel. I like it.

There are a lot of harsh corners/crevices and for lack of a better term, areas that will collect the elements, dirt, etc. It does indeed look sharp as it is taking shape brand new.

Be curious to see how this thing weathers or if they have to keep it maintained

I'm hoping that it develops a subtle patina that will wear better than the dirty white/beige exteriors that end up looking like complete ass after two winters.

Yeah I'm with you there on that. Like do they have any precedent for long term wear or did they just think it would look cool. Eg, I can see some pretty large chunks of ice forming on all those ledges.... Well not my problem lol - we'll see.

I think this is turning out to be a nice example of structural expressionism. I don't understand the hate related to material honesty. Material honesty is a great thing to value but it's only one of many values in architecture.

I like this building, but I probably wouldn't use the term "structural expressionism" here since the structure is not expressed. Unlike say the Hancock, the angled beams are not holding up anything. The facade elements are decorative.

The facades of many buildings referred to as examples of structural expresionism are decorative. The non-structural facades of these buildings express and emphasize the structure of the building on the outside. This building does the same.

So is it the detailing of the cladding that people don't like? Because to me that's all it is. Detailing. The metal cladding is literally being hung on the concrete structure. just like the metal cladding is hung on the structure of the Handcock. It's not like this building has fake X bracing running across the façade with nothing behind it. That would be a different story.

If its because the shape of the cladding itself, that's the styling Morris Adjmi uses on a majority of his building. He even creates those shapes out of brick or stone on some of his projects. I think it looks nice and adds texture to the façade.

How dare they fake a structural bracket!!! My grandfather was a structural bracketeer how rude!

Lol I don’t get the fuss either. These people must just be beside themselves when they see the barrel vault entrance to 345 n Morgan.
