It's not empty or industrial - and google maps lists is as Concordia Court - retirement home.

The Beresford site that Boffo are suggesting they'll provide some of the rental requirement is not empty, (there's a single storey industrial building on part of it), but it's on the other side of Macpherson from Concordia Court.

It looks like just a bunch of construction/disposal equipment with an empty yard?

I assumed the building in the yard by Macpherson might be part of the site, but without accurate addresses it's hard to tell. Either way, it's an underdeveloped industrial area that would get a non-market rental building.

On Dawson Street where the Pasta Amore restaurant is, they have installed large Fence Posts all in front of the building along the street. The businesses are still open, but looks like they are putting up fencing similar to what has gone up just to the east next door, where the building in that spot has been demolished. I can't remember how to spell it or find it on google. but there is large fencing display with that Ayouhuan or whatever developer name about coming to Brentwood with colourful graphics etc.

When I lived on the Burnaby side of Lougheed in 1991-92 I used to go to the Cameron library all the time, then after I moved to the Coquitlam side I would think I shouldn't use it anymore for some reason.

The old rock Cameron Community Centre and Library will have a sleek new look when it’s eventually completed.

The City of Burnaby is planning to replace the aging centre with a modern facility and has now released a rendering of what it will look like.

And the city is looking for feedback on its plans that will cost more than $200 million.

The current community centre and library, located at 9523 Cameron St. near Lougheed Mall, has served northeast Burnaby residents for nearly 40 years but “is no longer adequate as the surrounding area has grown and evolved,” said a city news release.

Based on community input received over the past two years, the city has developed designs

The proposed new design includes a range of learning, social, fitness and recreation amenities, including:

new library
aquatic facility
double gymnasium
weight room and cardio facilities
indoor jogging and walking track
fitness studios
multi-purpose rooms
dedicated youth and seniors spaces
child minding and indoor and outdoor play areas
civic plaza

Demolition of the walk-up on Wilson Ave / Central Boulevard is ongoing but I don't recall seeing proper renderings for the tower to replace it. I believe it is supposed to be 44 or 45 storeys tall?

The 44 storey tower by Anthem? With a non-market rental building for New Vista Housing Society with BC Housing support.

Interesting new project being proposed for the lot just south of Modello in Metrotown at 6280 Willingdon Ave., by Wesgroup.
It's your standard Condo plus non-market 2 tower project.









That last image shows Willondgon Ave. is pretty much filled out - or will be, especially if any more towers are planned for the patches leading to Imperial Ave.


Also interesting is something I noticed on their overall massing context diagram that shows what looks like a Sun Tower 3 just south of the sun Tower 2 and adjacent to Maywood on the Park.
I didn't realize that there was a third tower to that project.
Unless it was recently added.
The second tower is making progress and shouldn't be that far from topping out (which Maywood on the Park is just about doing now)
