I don't know if there's a specific name for them, but I felt like I saw some rendering here a year or so ago with those "bands" around floors 25, 50, 75, and 95th floor lit up in blue or violet. Feels like a waste of an opportunity not to allow for changing those lights on those floors to match seasons (for instance, blue/white in the winter, yellow in the spring, red/violet in the summer, and orange in the fall), special occasions, or just to stand out like the Bank of America building does nowadays in Dallas (it used to just glow green but was changed out recently to have bright & colorful LEDs seen below)!

Guess we'll see this year if there's some flair to enjoy with CPT at night

I first thought this was CPT testing the rainbow lights but later realized that it was a different building.

I think this building looks awesome now that it's almost done and the elevator is down, wow!

More so than any other building coming up of late, this one reminds me so much of the Panel and Girder toy set* I had as a kid. It is also reminding me of when mini-blinds made a comeback in the late 70's and Clairol named their hair color "Brushed Aluminum" in honor of them. All in all, a building I think I can appreciate.

* Kenner toys, ca 1964...

Hopefully it won't look anything like that tacky mess.

^Wonderful! Did people know all along that the crown would be lit, or was this a pleasant surprise?

Have they closed the thin gap that needs glass panels to be placed?

Same here. That terrace would be wasted on me.

What are those spines sticking out of the north and south façades visible in the Yimby images? Almost looks like towel bars or ladders mounted as mullions. It’s almost like they’re daring some crazy to climb it.

Well, now we know it's working. They'll probably be testing the other sides soon.
