There is no established condo market. These guys have tried and tried again to get one going. The scale of these towers are out of touch with the guys proposing them. Doubtful anything will come of them. It's a tourist trap in the middle of a 90k rust belt of a city. Who exactly is going to buy these condos? AirBnB Investors competing with the hotel?

The old building here beside the National War Memorial between Water and Duckworth streets burned down - a true tragedy.

And for the past few years, it's looked like this:

And now we have a proposal...

The only thing that would've been better was the old Parliament proposed for exactly the same site (but never built). White stone, modest size but ornate... it was truly spectacular.

Nice rendering but, you know the subway pattern will be ruined by spandrel panels as the building's structure isn't subway.

Took me a few moments to register what I was looking at. The glass on the rendering almost looks real. Interesting take on history.

how do plants & trees do in containers in Toronto in the winter? In bad winters in Vancouver trees & plants in containers can crack but thats not very often.

Do you have an image of the Parliament proposal, or a link to same? Or even just some more information?

What’s up with the little old looking facades. Are they existing buildings?

Any other images? Who is the architect?

A 42 storey and 6 storey for the fast changing Burquitlam area of Coquitlam. This proposal will replace a 3 storey rental. It will be across the street from a 29 storey Proposal which is also replacing a 3 storey rental, a couple lots down the street is a 32 storey tower, and just behind it sort of is a 50 storey tower. And just a block away from the three tower Lougheed Heights Development. Thats a lot of towers in one small area.

This is such an improvement over the original design. It will also block out that mess going up behind it.

The old design.
