Chaudiere is supposed to be undergoing a complete streets renewal, adding cycling and pedestrian facilities.

https://transformationchaudiere.ca/

I havent actually found any plans for the completed designs, but my guess is that based on zzptichka's photos they're building new pedestrian facilities next to the bridge, so they can dedicate the existing ROW to cycling and automobiles.

Yeah I know they are rebuilding the whole street. It's just that elevated facility that I find bizarre. People shouldn't have to climb a flight of stairs to get on a sidewalk. Hopefully it's an additional waterfront feature like a boardwalk or something and the sidewalk will remain.
I've been trying to find plans for a few months now as well but couldn't.

a bunch of May 2019 final plans were posted recently
https://app01.ottawa.ca/postingplans/appDetails.jsf?lang=en&appId=__9682J0

the servicing plan shows a "pipe bridge" with two forcemains and water connections on the west side of Booth just north of the museum.
http://webcast.ottawa.ca/plan/All_Image%...ter%20Servicing%20Plan%20Section%201.PDF

here is the master site plan, which shows bike lanes etc. There is also a "Truss Bridge" plan which is about the same width (76m) of the Bronson Channel crossing and has pipes underneath.

Master Plan

Truss Bridge Plan

Phase 1A have some more detailed plans posted here too

That particular bridge already exists and is being preserved in place.

The truss bridge will be way over by the war museum.

The 70-metre truss bridge will go in here:

Looks like they just need it for the pipes (can't run them under the bridge itself), so they decided to cover them with the bridge structure even though it's redundant. The sidewalk will remain at street level.

I still haven't been able to find full plans for the road, specifically South of Albert island and on Gatineau side.

Saw them install truss span for the bridge today. Didn't think it's so huge.

Wow looks great! Aesthetically, this fits with the modern industrial look they are going for and I think will help visually frame the whole development quite well.

The truss bridge is now in position, although I can't help thinking it will soon be lowered a few feet. Right now it doesn't look as though the pipes under the deck line up with the pipes in the ground at either end of the bridge. So perhaps those concrete steps are temporary.

It's not coming down even though there is clearly a couple of feet clearance between the pipes and water level. Too bad, it does stick out quite a bit.

The other bridge connecting to the War Museum is almost ready. They are building the middle section with wood for some reason.
Hopefully they plan to open together with Kanaal building some time in Spring?

It's like the old Union du Canada building and Terrasses de la Chaudiere had a love child.

6 Booth St. [Zibi] | 28m | 7f | Proposed

The proposed development is a seven (7) storey mixed-use building with retail and restaurant uses at-grade, office uses above, and a rooftop terrace associated with the restaurant. The proposed building is located along Booth Street, in the northeast corner of the Chaudière West district of the Zibi Master Plan. The building is important both for its location along Booth Street, but also its prominent location on the Zibi site between the primary vehicular access to Chaudière West, and the primary pedestrian access to Head Street Square from Booth Street. The proposed development incorporates an existing heritage structure at its south edge, framing the entry to Head Street Square, and utilizes a variety of materials to evoke the industrial heritage of the site.
