Sorry, there was a time not too long ago (about 30 years) when CB actually had more people than PEI - I remember the statistic, and, being from PEI, I remember being quite surprised by the fact.
Since that time, PEI has been growing at a healthy pace, adding at least 25,000 people to reach it's current population of 155,000. I forgot however how much CB's population had dropped like a stone at the same time. My apologies.
The issue remains however that the catchment area for a Charlottetown Costco would be constricted to the island itself. Nobody from the mainland would visit an island Costco to shop, mainly because of the bridge toll. If Costco demands a catchment population of 250,000 to build, then that's a big problem for the island to overcome.......
