It’ll be nice (but very unlikely) if the province uploads even parts of Old Highway 17 (up to Rockland) back to the provincial system.

I assume you mean Ottawa Road 174 (commonly referred to as Highway 174); it only becomes ON-17 east of Ottawa. I totally agree though. I gather part of the reason why the province agreed to split the cost of the Confederation Line extension to Trim Rd is as an apology for offloading the Highway on the city. Personally, I think they should name the station "The Clarence-Rockland connection station," as that is what its primary purpose is.
