Chesapeake Haven, a 60-unit seniors apartment building on Malpeque Road in Charlottetown
Bill and Kathy McInnis are the owners and developers of the Chesapeake brand apartments across the province.
His construction crew is literally building the roof all by itself on the site of what will eventually be a four-storey, 60-unit high-end seniors apartment complex.
The building will also feature underground parking for 55 units.
Bill’s daughter, Melody, is in charge of filling the units with people.
“I do all the rentals (for our properties) like renting this building as it goes up, and we’re over half full at this stage already,’’ Melody said of the Malpeque Road property that will be called Chesapeake Haven.
Kathy McInnis said the demand is there.
