The last beam can be seen in my photo as well as Da_Master's photo, unfortunately they had it placed on the street upside down so now everyones messages are upside down.

Well, knowing Calgary's construction track record, we should be happy that they at least measured correctly this time and it didn't need to go back to manufacturing. Is that bend part-way by design, or is that something they did on-site to make it fit?

Library is looking amazing, and the inside space that they recently tweeted a scaffolding-free image of looks fabulous.

Apparently things are going well.

Any idea on when the cranes would be dismantled?

That looks awesome. Does anyone know is this steam bent? Is that just a rack, or is it being fabircated/bent on site?

Also, is the curve uniform, or do they have to bend each piece custom ad-hoc?

A+

I find that leading international architects from overseas often overestimate the capabilities of our local trades. Was the case with the Bow, the Peace Bridge, and seemingly now this Snøhetta designed library.

I'm certain this will get worked out, but it will undoubtedly require more hours than planned, and possibly a plea for more dollars from the construction folks.

There you go again talking about sh*t that isn't correct because you have a hate-on for local trades. For the Peace Bridge it was the Spanish welders that did sub-par work not local ones. Look it up.

I'm not up on that but I will tell you that the raised floor that is going into this building is one of the more complicated jobs for that sort of thing. The good thing is they picked a superior product....not like Telus Sky who picked a generic raised floor out of China that they are going to have many issues with.

Would you give it up already. Local tradespeople aren't perfect and can make mistakes, but this is the case every where else. Even in highly controlled professions like lawyers, doctors or pilots, mistakes get made. Also construction folks make mistakes in other cities, it has nothing to do with the the so called construction mafia.
