Lake Ontario also warms the ambient temperature however. So while it's -30 In Saskatchewan it might be 0C at BMO before wind is factored in.

SaskScraper I will give you credit for getting jabs in there without making it so obvious. However, many of us can see through it.

The alternative to a snow bowl is it being just so frickin cold it doesn't snow at all. Freezer bowls if you will, frozen tundra, etc like those classics on the Prairies. You aren't the only one who can do it.

'Freezer' bowl? ..doesn't have a ring to it, must not happen very often in my part if the country I guess, because no one ever recalls them as much as the previously mentioned weather related bowls from ON/PQ. ie, Eastern Final in Ottawa last year etc.
At least Ontario still has football, weather or not.. you could be living in a bountiful part of BC where there's nothing better to do but sell your pre-teenage daughter off to a polygamist.. hahaha

Calgary (McMahon)
Edmonton (Commonwealth)
Montreal (Olympic & Saputo)
Ottawa (Lansdowne)
Regina (Mosaic)
Toronto (Rogers & BMO)
Vancouver (BC)

I'm still guessing a max of two of these are selected (BC & BMO). The inclusion of Saputo stands out a lot IMO.

CSA is pushing for 4 Canadian stadiums included as part of the final bid

If that's the case then the only thing up for debate is what the fourth city will be. My bet is on Edmonton for that fourth spot.

Mexico have only put forward three stadiums so they're presumably all set.

The Americans have submitted a gazillion stadiums. (By our modest standards, so has Canada really.)

Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, Edmonton would make perfect sense, but I'd be surprised if Canada ended up with 4 sites.

Also, the 30,048 listed for Mosaic is the capacity old Mosaic had... circa 2011...

That article doesn't mean too much because all it is saying is that the bid committee is asking communities to ask for information and declare interest in being part of the bidding process.

It has McMahon on there, they wouldn't be taken seriously unless Calgary gets a new stadium and as I have said before in Canada it generally takes eight years from conception to fruition. Still time, but ...

They are asking for 40k seats for the group stage and all the new Canadian stadiums (Regina and Ottawa, on the list) can meet that standard.

Slightly off topic but is it true Winnipeg is taking out seats to create more patio party space which is all the rage in stadiums right now. Surprised Winnipeg isn't on that list.

I like Edmonton not just for the size of their stadium but also for their good track record in supporting Canada's national teams in many sports, and for supporting international sporting events.

I would have no problem with them hosting the biggest game

I really don't know why not. The USA and England both had the best bids for the WC and they lost to Qatar and Russia. With the corrupt FIFA riding roughshod over the CSA who knows what criteria is in their selection process. Could be merit, could be bribery, could be political correctness, who knows what it will be this time.

Not sure we're talking about the same thing.

My two scenarios

1- USA-Canada-Mexico World Cup - no final in Edmonton or in any Canadian city

2 - Canada only World Cup - the final wouldn't be in Edmonton
