Terrasses de la Chaudiere Exterior Renovation | U/C

Terrasses de la Chaudiere looks to be getting a complete redo of it's at-grade streetfront on all sides of the complex. I didn't see much work going on, It looks like they have paused for the winter.

Looks like the frame of a bus shelter à-la-Rapibus.

Agreed, except the entire complex is surrounded by this new structural steel on all sides, not just the bus area.

The scaffolding around the Terraces buildings have been there for like 3-4 years now, supposedly to protect pedestrians because the buildings have been losing bricks! With that said, do you have any links to articles about the actual street-level renovations?

I think it's been a lot longer than 3-4 years. Maybe 6-8...

That's just wild.. I assumed it was a work in progress! I can't believe this setup is to stop bricks.. I'd like to know what the plan is!

I am not sure if the permanent-looking stuff is simply to stop bricks, but the temporary stuff that was there for years certainly was.

There was only very minimal work done on the buildings during those years.

Parks Canada moved to 30 Victoria from the 25 Eddy building last year, I wonder if they are emptying those buildings one by one to start renovating them. Whatever they do, I hope they retain the red brick as it does give the skyline a lot of character.
