glass is getting close to topping out. wonder if the spire will be added last or if we'll see it added before the facade is done.

So I was wrong on the top mechanical floor. Looks like it wasn't redesigned.

Wow, that glass is just so beautiful reflecting that golden-blue light on a clear summer morning. With each day of progress this building just gets more and more impressive!

i'm guessing that by the end of july the cladding will be just about done, with the exception of the areas around the service elevator and crane.

i'm excited to see the lower floors finished to see what it'll look like from street level. renderings are one thing, but seeing it in reality is another.

Cool pictures Architecture Buff

Zooming in from Warm Springs Ave above Warm Springs Golf Course. The Zoom funked with the hue of the sky and I did not realize this until I was home and uploaded the photos. errrrr. I will be out that way again in a few days and will redeem myself. What about a SSP meet at the golf course?

No Zoom and perfect hue. US Bank and 8th and Main are to the right of center below the big, blue, beautiful Boise sky. Of course there are trees in the way

mixing up the Effect

She's a beauty guys! :D

I do sort of wish that the spire was just a tad bit larger then it currently is though.

nice shot.

i think the spire will be fine once the final piece is put in and the cladding goes on. it's definitely a huge improvement from the previous spire, which was incredibly tiny.

CCDC Considers '16-Inch Difference of Opinion' With Ruth's Chris

Posted by George Prentice on Tue, Jun 11, 2013 at 11:15 AM

It was all about 16 inches.

One of the longer discussions to mark the June 10 meeting of the Capital City Development Corporation concerned a unique request from the soon-to-be Ruth's Chris steakhouse restaurant, one of the ground floor tenants of the Eighth and Main Tower, which is still under construction.

Ruth's Chris has designs to include sidewalk dining through its alcove facing Eighth Street, but it wants to stretch that dining area onto the sidewalk. The problem is that the Eighth and Main building is 10-feet further east than any of the buildings on the west side of Eighth, effectively leaving less than 4-feet of usable patio space.
