Interesting Facts/Records (in own words): Stolp transmitter was a broadcasting facility not only designed
to supply Stolp area with radio programmes, but also to clarify the question, if it is possible to realize directional
antennas with skywave surpression characteristics with an antenna arrangement, consisting of several antennas arranged
in a circle around a central antenna.
This kind of antenna is very suitable for high power longwave broadcasting stations and it was planned in the end of the 1930ies to enlarge the
antenna of Deutschlandsender III in Herzberg/ Elster to such an installation. While this was not possible as result of World War II, longwave broadcasting stations
with such type of antenna were realized in Orlund ( Sweden), Taldom ( Russia) and Tulagino ( Russia).
At Stolp transmitter were for the realization of such an antenna in 1938/1939 seven identical wooden lattice towers with triangular cross section were built.
Six of these towers were arranged on a circle with 150 metres diametre. The seventh tower, which was built as first, stood in the centre of this ring.
Each of these towers, which were the tallest wooden lattice towers with triangular cross section ever realized in Germany ( the site belonged before 1945 to Germany), was
equipped with a wooden antenna wire in its structure.
The facility started broadcasting on December 1st, 1938 with the central tower as only antenna. The erection of the six ring towers lasted until July 1939.
The installation survived World War II and was shortly after World War II used by the Russian occupants for transmitting the program of "Radio Volga".
In 1955 the facility including its towers was demolished after the removal of all technical device.
