We took my daughter (with the family) to Hunter & Co. for her graduation (high school) dinner. The food was great.

i was walking around downtown London last evening. What a ghost town it has become. Even along the formerly busy streets of Richmond and King. The vagrants were out in full force, mind you. So many empty restaurants...

I'm sure that your observations were astute, however considering the circumstances (elementary/high school recently out making it prime family vacation time, Western/Fanshawe mostly out, the start of a severe hot spell keeping folks inside, and a Tuesday) I'm unsure if it's not a worst-case situation. A reverse example would be the situation on a Friday night during Sunfest, Rock The Park, or the last half of September when Western and Fanshawe are back in full swing: all of which may represent best case scenarios, but may not represent a more average one.

Is Richmond Row still considered London's premier dining area or has that moved to King/Talbot or Wortley?

I would still say that Richmond running south from Oxford to downtown is probably still the most significant dining area in the city, but the street itself it is not as dominant as it once was. Like you mentioned, some great spots are moving west through downtown to Talbot and beyond (AnnDining, Pizzeria Madre, Hunter & Co, etc.), but I still consider them to be a part of the same cluster as those on Richmond.

Wortley, and to an extent West Five and Hyde Park have become destinations as well, in addition to the many suburban power centres that have attracted the larger chain restaurants.

I've always thought that Blackfriars could become a new dining & shopping enclave much like Wortley.

I don't see any similarity at all between Blackfriars and Wortley and I doubt the residents of Blackfriars want there to be.

Shake Shack coming to London with a drive thru in 2027 with 100 new jobs.

A New York fast-food chain known for burgers, crinkle-cut fries, milkshakes and lemonade is coming to London, bringing a new feature and about 100 jobs.

Food fans may recognize its neon-green, burger-shaped logo as Shake Shack is expanding to the city’s south end, with its first Ontario drive-thru, officials announced Monday. The new restaurant will be located at 3275 Wonderland Rd. S.

The Southwest Area Plan projects 25,000 additional people living here in the future. North London has already reached the city limits in a few spots north of Sunningdale Rd. The SW corner will see the most future population growth.

London has a history of being a test market for many products and services.

I like Shake Shack (the burgers are tasty) but man, it's very pricey.

No doubt. But the "money" is more in the north than in the south.

Ahhhh, but you likely are unaware of the Lambeth Illuminati (because of course they are a secret organization). It's where the real power and wealth resides. They are the ones who really pull the strings.
