I looked today, and there are now panels on the hotel and the tower. They appear to be identical, and I don't think they're precast. It looks like they're pre-assembled metal clad panels, (and unusually they haven't added a protective skin for installation). The tower has a vertical panel, with dark grey/charcoal glazing between, somewhat similar to the glazing on The Smithe (by the same architects).

Thanks!
At least with the lighter coloured metal panel, oil-canning probably won't show up much.

From the application it called for

Quote:
EQUITONE [tectiva]

EQUITONE [tectiva] is a hi-strength (high-density) fiber cement panel designed for ventilated rainscreen systems. Through-colored with a sanded surface, each panel reveals natural variations and subtle color shifts that bring depth and movement to the facade. The raw, expressive texture highlights the material’s authentic character, making [tectiva] a bold yet refined choice for modern architectural design.

Are those panels between the glass on the lower level of the towers kind of similar to the other panels you guys saw?

I only use one eye, and it's not that good, so I'm not going to be the best judge! They appear to be using the same material on the tower and the hotel. On the tower, the panels are deeper (much deeper than the 8mm fiber cement panel you linked to). As the wall sections are pre-assembed it's really hard to tell, but the one uncovered edge (along the bottom of the hotel) looks more like a powder coating applied to the surface, and not wrapped round the edge. A decent close-up photo might one way to check.

That's not the case with the thicker tower panels, which appear to have finished bottom edges. The hotel has inset coloured sections that appear to be powder coated metal - they're glossy, and thin along the sides, where the next panel up the building meets it. Some of the vertical shadow lines are just an indent in the surface, not an actual joint, so if they're fiber cement they've been really beautifully finished and rounded on the edges. There's probably still caulk to be applied to the joints that aren't indentations, which would make all the joints match.

I'll try to check it out over the weekend.
PS - that Equitone material looks really finely finished.
It could be hard to tell the difference between that and metal panel from a distance.

By me today:

The cladding material is hard to figure out.
It looks more like metal cladding than the stone material.
Not too keen on the red window framing - it looks to matchy-matchy with the brick.

There's 3 spandrel panels on each balcony.

Thanks for the photos. I really quite like the red mullions/framing of the windows. It will help sell the look of an intact heritage building that has been modified to include a tower, even if it has just been the facade that has been retained and adaptively reused.

Must be metal panel - I see some oil-canning.

DP, and the BP revision I believe, has been issued for the additional hotel floors.

That's good. They seemed to be working on them (quietly) for a couple of weeks!

How many floors left to go on this puppy? When are we expecting the hotel segment to open? Late next year perhaps?

I count 24 floors out of 29 so far.
I think the hotel part is stalled pending a revised permit allowing the additional height.

madog222 said the DP, and the BP revision had been issued for the additional hotel floors about three weeks ago. They will need to install different cladding panels to complete the hotel as now approved. The cladding they have installed so far on the hotel block would have mostly been the same with the previous design, and the revised version. They still have a few floors to go on the residential tower, so they may be concentrating on that for a while. There are two more floors to add to the hotel block.
