Great photos, thanks for the updates! Did you happen to see any action at 509 12th St on your tour through Nutana? I haven’t heard of anything on that project lately, last I heard they were still looking for an anchor tenant. Their website also shows the status as pre-construction.

Hello!
I actually drove past 509 12th st yesterday. There is construction fencing and a couple seacans... I also believe it's on pause until they get a lead tenant.
The 26 story condo proposed for 555 12th st e has also been approved by city council.. nothing happening there.
Also checked the Star Phoenix building project ... for a 35 story condo/mixed use (204 5th ave n) I believe they're still waiting for rezoning approval. Only thing new there, is a sign advertising building and land for lease .

Some interesting news on the rare earth facility in Saskatoon with the first expansion just about done and ready for production early 2027, found this talk in government site about second expansion if things go well
Quote:
Based on that work there is the third piece, where REA are interested in building a very large rare earths facility in Saskatoon, which would be approximately 7 to 10 times the scale of the current REPF. So we talked about, you know, two Costcos; this would be 20 Costcos. So it would be approaching a million square feet, so a very sizable facility. And we’re at the stages of looking at a pre-feasibility study to be able to do that. If that went ahead, that would be in the sort of 2031‑32 horizon.

Thanks for the article, I hadn’t seen that one before. It surprises me that there’s only 3,000 downtown residents. This project alone would increase that number by about 30%!

Also someone in the standing committee is poor at math. A million SF facility would be 6.5 Costcos, not 20.

The approximate location is between 51st and 56 street and Miners ave. and clevland ave. they do not give physical address as all deliveries to it ar to a different SRC address.

Saskatchewan Calls for Enhanced Federal Provincial Partnership for Infrastructure Investments

The Government of Saskatchewan has formally endorsed the DEED project in a letter to the Federal Government calling for funding, and has committed to cost-matching federal dollars up to a maximum of 1/3 of project costs.

Between this and the partnership being explored with Muskeg Lake, I think we're going to see this project really heat up over the next couple years.

Housing in this neighborhood has exploded! Townhouses are up less than a block to the west of Zimmerman Road...

The east end of Rosewood is going to be a very busy place in another year or two with all this high density housing! I saw a drill rig and pile cages on the north west corner of the site a week or two ago. I imagine we’ll see the superstructure come to life soon. If I’m not mistaken, this new building will be the grocery store which I’ve heard from word of mouth will be a Safeway or Sobey’s. Not sure how credible that intel is though.
