Part of the fun of going to a game is the atmosphere created by the crowd. Even if it's only a few sections that had this site-line it's still terrible. You may as well watch at home.

Oh for sure, the press level is awkward and I'm looking forward to the new arena. Will miss the cheap nosebleeds though, new ticket prices are going to hurt.

6800+ on a tuesday for $2 hot dog and bobble head night. Won 6-5 in the bottom of the 9th.

At least it still looks cool on the outside and looks good in pictures. It's the perfect arena for the stampede and concerts.

The Big O in Montreal has to be the toughest stadium to maintain and to find a purpose for. I know the current renovations will bring the CF in as it's new permanent home. Are the Alouettes also planning to move it? The stadium seem too large for those two franchises. Unless they can constantly sell out or mostly fill the stands, it might suffer from the empty cavern effect that make going to the event kind of boring. I wish they had spend the money and just upgraded the seating for MLB. I'm sure Montreal will get a team back in the future and the Big O should be it's home.

$2!!!!!!!!!, That's twice what we pay on our hot dog nights at the Skydome. I bet they taste better though, the last and only loonie hot dog night I went to was a let down. Had 6 hot dogs over the night, all were cold or room temp. It was like they just took them out of the packet, slapped them into the buns and handed them over to us. gross!


Also, nice little stadium, I love those old school farm league type stadiums. They all have a Wrigley Field look to them.

That's the big issue with Olympic stadium, it feels very cavernous even when the stands are filled... so it's that much worse when it's half-filled (or less). They're spending all this money in making the stadium functional again, making it inviting is something I don't think they can properly address.

Also, tallboys were $8-8.50 for local brews... how bout dat Skydome?

It's crazy that building has sat there for so long, it's been about 10 years? Went to a concert there years ago, building had an intimacy to it. I'll have to watch that Metallica Through the Never movie soon, the concert scenes were all filmed in there, the "Thank You Fans" sign made an appearance too.

I probably asked already but can't remember lol. Is anything going in this location when the arena is gone?

I give the Saddledome 2 years after the Fireplace opens before there is no trace of it. 2 years max. Where it sits the Stampede wants to build an outdoor amphitheater like the one in PNE, so that should be cool at least.

It was a great junior hockey rink. So loud, fans were on top of the action with steep incline and low roof

I believe the long term plan is housing (with the LRT right there it is admittedly a prime candidate for middle-to-high density), but I'm not sure how long the delay between tearing Northlands down and erecting apartment buildings will be. The area isn't expected to be fully developed for decades.
