Mohler has already raised admisson standards by shortening the application window for out of state students. He also has instituted a holistic admissions standard whereby students are judged not just by their scores but by things that correlate highly with higher test scores, such as leadership and employment experience. Application process now favors non inflated GPAs as in rigorous high school coursework. Also, semester by semester scholarship audits as opposed to yealy audits, put more pressure on students to maintain high GPAs. UA is starting to seem less desperate in its admissions process.
