916 W Olive Avenue, Burbank. Yelp says it's closed, but the signs are still there. The lower sign changed from "STEAKS" to "PIES" between 2008 and 2011.

Much like Johnie's Coffee Shop at Wilshire and Fairfax, Frank's is one of those LA businesses that isn't open to the public but is still used quite often as a filming location.

That’s good coincidencing* too since I recently picked up a piece of flatware from the Melody Lane operations around that era and they would open a big one on that very lot. Today’s find was a Cliftons fork from that time period too. (*Is coincedencing a word? Are thumbs fingers?)

The advert for the Road Side Cafe offering fried 1/2 chicken for $1 lists its address as 916 W Olive. That's the same location as Frank's Coffee Shop above.

Ernie Jr's Taco House was at 126 W Colorado Boulevard. It apparently closed in 1998 after 43 years in business - article at LAT. The branch in 2803 W Broadway in Eagle Rock closed in 2014 - article at la.eater.com.

The Pasadena buildings are still there - see GSV.
