To be honest, this is a good thing.

In the end, it's better that Lubert Adler does this project. And they will.

Seems odd that CSC not only gave a statement, but took the opportunity to make it political (regarding tax abatements).

Are they just trying to pressure the City?

I don't disagree that having it in local hands tends to be better (look at the idiotic Durst site on Delaware Ave still), BUT I don't find Adler's comments all that encouraging about having to do their homework again. This is a very very important location, and having no concrete plan now is not a good thing imo.

Eh. Meh.

They'll make the numbers pencil out. Lubert Adler bid $8MM less to begin with. It could be that the other firm just overpaid. So if anything, they come back with an even lower bid.

While I understand this incident took place in NY, the conversion nature of the very large Centre Square project, the immediate timing after the NY incident and the fact that the winning developer is NY-based is way too coincidental.

I believe the Liberty One lights are broken. They have not changed color in awhile including for All Star Weekend when all the lights were red. Same with The Laurel. Plus the mylibertylights app won't change the colors. This leads me to believe they are either broken or being renovated, let's hope for the latter.
