It took me less than 2 mins to find once the Reno Depot was spotted. Checked building types for potential driveways with tempos, within a 1 km radius of the eye.

Agreed, bus tours should visit this area to feature the breathtaking vista of the Versailles of Quebec.

My kid stayed at that Sandman hotel once for a volleyball tournament. It is just as ugly on the inside.

This hotel in Sault Ste. Marie is also not recommended.

A few years ago my daughter went on a school trip to Montreal (she just graduated HS, French Immersion). She told me that they stayed at the Sandman in Longueuil, and that it was awful.

Those roach motels from Montreal remind me of some of the ones in Calgary on the TransCanada hwy that also have prostitution and crime problems.

After visiting Canmore over the weekend I almost wish there were more affordable motel options though. The ones that existed have been renovated and now charge almost as much as standard hotels. You cannot spend the night without forking over $500-$600 for the “affordable” ones during the summer. Visiting the mountains and parks used to be accessible for families looking for a weekend getaway. Now it’s far from it.

so much ugliness in that mashup. Especially the awful Ezra Levant, friend of the even more awful Ann Coulter (the latter famously once suggested that the U.S. is lucky that it allows the country [Canada] "to exist on the same continent". While speaking at the University of Western Ontario, where I work, Coulter generated immense public outcry after suggesting a 17-year-old Muslim student, who challenged her anti-Muslim comments, should "take a camel" instead of flying on an airplane.).

Think the "Braidwood Inn" from Planes, Trains and Automobiles.

They had a pool - closed for renovation.

They had a restaurant - closed for breakfast.

They had an elevator - doesn't work, have to take the stairs.

The air conditioning was so cold the cool view of Wal-Mart was covered in condensation by morning.

I also think there was some kind of biker convention going on when I stayed there. Plus, the water tower they are named after seems to be just a defunct piece of infrastructure they latched onto so they could make the sign more visible.
