^^

My confirmation bias would say that supports my guess on Halifax Music Fest night two being Mumford and Sons/Caamp.

Since they could accomodate both festivals. Play Halifax >> Head to Europe >> come back from europe to play Newfoundland. From a travel perspective it makes sense. They currently have nothing from July 10-30th. The Barr Brothers are also opening for them for part of their tour so theres a connection there with night 1.

On another note. Red Jumpsuit apparatus is coming to Moncton and Halifax Aug 26/27th. Scream/Emo is certainly on a big comeback right now.

Silversun Pickups announced as the opener for Day 2.

Very impressive as they usually play in 2500 capacity venue in Toronto.

If we stick that genre of Alternative/Punk, I wouldnt be surprised if we see Jimmy Eat World and/or Pup in there as well.

HalifaxMusicFest Day 2:

Weezer/Jimmy Eat World/Dashboard Confessional/Silversun Pickups

Very nice lineup! Although im surprised with Weezer being there as they have no tour at all until September, so they must had asked a good price to get them here. Or they have a Summer tour that has not yet been announced or they're the band that will play Churchill Park as well the month after.

With The Chicks already on Tier3 pricing, this edition has all the tool to be a success and push Sonic to make it yearly event. Both nights should have no trouble of getting the 20k mark.

And looking at the prices of that Fall tour, its probably the only shot for the East Coast to get them here. They're playing Place Bell (10k) in October and tickets are 193$(!!) and up for LowerBowl sections.

After announcing the usual Area506 festival and the Waterfront Concert series, Area506 just dropped two theme weekends

A LOUD weekend on July 10th and 12th

DAY 1
Silverstein
Hard Charger
Johnny Deathwish
Elevate The Virus

DAY 2
Gob
Iron Giant
The Monoxides
Doctor Mother Father

And a Folk weekend on August 28th and 29th

FRIDAY NIGHT:
The East Pointers
Josh Bravener & The Hypochondriacs
The Big River Ramblers

SATURDAY AFTERNOON*:
Lennie Gallant
Dram & A Draw
Chickahominy Trio

SATURDAY NIGHT:
The Barr Brothers
Gift Horse
Abby McCartney

Good idea of spreading the "wealth/booking" through out the Summer instead of putting all the eggs in the same basket.

Also without surprises, Churchill Park announced The Chicks as their first headliner, and managed to sold it out in like 30 minutes.

Heads up. The Triumph show tonight at the Avenir centre, Ticketmaster has dropped ticket prices quite a lot (about 30%). And plenty of tickets left.

Promotions going on for The Jonas Bros show at Moncton stadium (Buy One Get one Free)

I checked Ticketmaster, and while most of the cheap tickets are gone, they're having trouble with the more expansive one that goes from 150$ to 545$ at the very first row on the floor.

On a more positive note, the Cavendish Beach Music Festival happened last weekend with over 50k total for the 3 days. Whats impressive is 80% of those are from out of province!
