More than 50 former Brady Tkachuk fans traded in his number 7 sweater for a different number 7 at the Ottawa Titans baseball game on Tuesday night.
The Titans hosted "Forget Brady Day" following the former Ottawa Senators captain's trade request that led his trade to the Florida Panthers last month.
According to the timeline provided by Senators general manager Steve Staios, Tkachuk asked for the trade about a week after saying he was tired of trade rumours and insisting he was "fully committed" to both the team and the city. News of his trade soon after angered many fans.
Tkachuk said it was no easy decision to embark on the next chapter of his career, even with a team that won the Stanley Cup in 2024 and 2025, and features his older brother Matthew.
That same week, the Titans announced their July 7 promo, which fell on the seventh day of the seventh month. Fans who bought a ticket to the game, filled out a form and brought in a Tkachuk sweater would be sent a free #7 jersey of longtime Titan AJ Wright.
"We're celebrating the #7 Ottawa deserves," the team said on one of its promo pages.
The Titans said Wednesday that 52 fans took them up on the offer.
