I imagine the lines won't get repainted until the top coat of asphalt is down.

Also just returned from my bike ride to Langley, will post second part of skytrain update in a day or two.
Yeah, no need for a fancy cover page.
Thanks for the updates!

That and transfers between trains come in large clumps as oppose to entering the station.

According to signage at the bus stops near Broadway-City Hall, the traffic deck removal will begin next Friday, July 10th. Bus stops are being temporarily relocated.

For some reason, SB Cambie pavement just north of Broadway was being chiselled using jackhammers. How that plays into the pending traffic division, colour me curious.

Is there going to be some kind of boulevard or divider?

It might not be as wide as before but there will be some trees.

Temporary two-block road closure on Broadway starts July 20

July 7, 2026

The Broadway Subway Project Corporation is in your neighbourhood getting ready to remove the traffic deck at the future Broadway-City Hall Station. On Monday, July 20, Broadway between Cambie and Alberta streets will close to vehicle traffic for approximately six months. During this time, buses and local traffic will be detoured around the closure using W. 8th Avenue. Sidewalks will remain open on Broadway and access to businesses, services and residences will be maintained at all times. Neighbourhood streets will remain open to all drivers to access residences, businesses, and services. Drivers who are commuting through the neighbourhood will be encouraged to use one of the other east-west routes.

The team continues to engage with businesses and residents, coordinate electrical changes, install fencing, place signage, prepare the road, and support bus trials to ensure that everything is set up for new traffic conditions between Alberta and Ash streets on W. 8th Avenue.

They're pouring a concrete pad for the southbound bus stop on Cambie (at Broadway).

I live in the area and I just saw that between Ash and 8th they installed traffic lights. Real traffic lights, not just temporary ones.
They are still deactivated but I assume they will start to function on July 20th.

I also wonder if they will leave them there after the 6 months.

That area is very residential, the block of west 8th between Cambie and ash has businesses (whole foods, cobs, etc) but after that it's a very "quiet" residential area so I wonder how "bad" it will be there during the day.
