^Crazy, innit? I wish I remembered the tear-inducing narration of the denouement of the final "Wonder Years" episode. It's amazing how life passes by without one's actually noticing its occurrence, largely. Childhood is a time to treasure, but one doesn't know it at the time because, if one is lucky, one is too busy having carefree fun, not looking back with melancholia on what once was.
Don't worry about making fun of Germans. We have a lot to live down, what with the starting of two world wars and resultant deaths of millions. And what's more, German-accented men sound silly when they speak English. Except for my dad, that is.
I don't know if this is apocryphal (and I can't check; one tab only), but my parents always told me a story about a long-ago German chancellor who tried to impress visiting Americans with his English. Problem was, he didn't know a lick of English, and his handlers must have left him hanging. He wanted to translate, "Gleich geht es los!", which means, roughly, "Watch out, the action is about to begin!" But he translated it literally, and it came out as the nonsensical "Equal goes it loose" because those words have multiple meanings in English, and he picked the wrong ones.

Of course I know that song! I don't why I have never looked into those guys, especially as a synth-pop aficionado.
I don't have a cell phone (browsing via Tesla; not recommended). And I don't look like that guy. I'm 51, burly, and somewhat unkempt, because when one doesn't have a gf or wife, one tends not to give toss. But I clean up quite well.
