Sounds like something AI would name a restaurant.

They closed the restaurant from 11 am to 4 pm, I heard. I'm surprised they used the Granville location since it's all soccer mad down there.

Oops, “snacking” though I’d thought some might say snaking for Bongbong Marcos.

I wonder if they paid the store generously for lost business using our taxpayer dollars?

Why would they?

The restaurant volunteered to host both world leaders and closed willingly of their own volition.

And they'll make up for any "lost business" with the great marketing and business PR it garnered them for having the leader of the Phillippines at their store location - given the fact that the majority segment of their customer-base are Filipino-Canadian.

And even if taxpayer dollars had been involved, it's the Prime Minister's functional imperative and executive prerogative to host foreign leaders, with whose nations he hopes to build or foster better diplomatic and economic relations.

White Spot in Surrey Central on KGH is closing next week after 60 years. No reason given apparently. Is the site up for development?

What a braindead take. Do you have any idea how good the PR was for that visit? Any other store would kill for that kind of exposure.

Didn't hear about it but sounds like Bentall Centre made an attempt to upgrade their dead food court.

Even if that were how it works, your share of that would amount to a tiny fraction of one cent.

Finally got a chance to try Dave's Hot Chicken on Granville, the lineups are not bad anymore and I was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. It was quite good, it reminded me of the chicken you can get at some of the better Korean fried chicken places.

Inside I was surprised by how roomy it is, lots and lots of tables and even when busy there was a place to sit. Really nice layout.

The sushi place on Seymour Street just south of Robson (California Sushi) did their grand opening yesterday and I got the chance to try it. Really nice decor inside, roomy and comfortable and very friendly staff.

The sushi was great, nice portions and tasty. I will go back again soon.

Me and a buddy checked out a new place in Gastown called "Amber". Really cool place, with a great vibe, with an interior that was very nicely done. What really adds to the vibe is that they have a Jadis tube amp hooked up to a large pair of horn loaded speakers, which I didn't recognize, but the sound was top notch, and the DJ was playing very cool music, which definitely added to the vibe.

Maharashtrian cuisine has finally come to Vancouver-Geeta's is Open on Cambie after being on 12th in New West for a couple years now.

Very tasty and quite unlike other Indian food this is something you have to try for yourself.

I went for brunch the day they opened and it was legit. The miso oyster mushroom waffle is so good.

Same guy behind Musette (v1, v2) and Isetta, though he's moved on from both.
